IONIA, Ephesos, (350-288 B.C.), AE 13, (2.280 grams), obv. bee with open wings dividing E - **F, rev. stag kneeling to left, head to right, astragalos above, to left the magistrate's name **FILOSTRATOS* (Philostratos), (S.4402, BMC 61 [larger flan same magistrate]). Attractive dark brown patination, extremely fine and a rare type, the magistrate only known for the larger copper coinage.
