JULIUS CAESAR, (assasinated 44 B.C.), as an issue of L.Munatius Plancus praef urbis (c.45 B.C.), gold aureus, (8.12 grams), obv. around C.CAES DIC.TER, diademed and draped bust of Victory to right, rev. a jug on either side L.PLANC. PRAEF.VRB and with dotted border, (S.1396, Cr.475/1a, Syd.1019, BMC 4118, C.31). Large flan with small defect on reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and very rare.
