L. VALERIUS FLACCUS, (108-107 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.926 grams), obv. Bust of Venus, winged and draped to right, * below chin, rev. Mars walking to left, carrying trophy, L.VALERI/ [F]LACCI and flamen's cap before, corn stalk behind, (S.183 [£60 VF], Cr.306/1, Syd.565). Attractive grey tone, weak in places, otherwise good very fine, scarce.
