GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), silver antoninianus, Rome mint, issued 240-244, (5.27 grams), obv. radiate bust of Gordian III to right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. Hercules standing to right, around VIRTVTI AVGVSTI, (S.2457, RIC 148, RSC 296). On a very broad flan with attractive grey and gold patina, extrermely fine/good very fine.
