NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE As, Lugdunum mint, issued A.D. 65, (10.585 grams), obv. bare head of Nero to right, around NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS, rev. S C across, Nero laureate, advancing to the right in the flowing robes of Apollo Citharoedus playing a lyre held in the left hand, around PONTIF MAX TR POT IMP P P, (cf.S.686 [£160], RIC 416, BMC 376). Attractive dark patina with highlights, very fine and rare.
