SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.700 grams), Antioch mint, first reign, issued 121-113 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left IE over A, to right, between figure and inscription N, (cf.S.7143, Newell SMA 367, Hunterian No.8, BMC 10, Houghton ACNAC 322, SNG Von Post 597). Extremely fine and scarce.
