Lot 4528       World Gold

Estimate $500
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $4,500

COLOMBIA, Philip V (1700-1746), gold cob four escudos, 1730, (13.5 grams), (cf.KM.23, cf.Cal. 252). Very fine and very rare the date previously unlisted.

The dates recorded are 1740, 1745 and 1747, and illustrated examples are clearly of this type. However the date is clearly 1 7 - 0 and it is clearly not a 4, but appears as more as a 3 with the lower part curved as of a 3. If it is 1730 it is unlisted and unpublished.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
