AYLESBURY, Francis Wheeler's, halfpenny, 1797, mule with Spence's Pandoras Breeches reverse by Skidmore (D&H 9). Struck on thin flan with engrailed edge. Flan cracked from 8 o'clock to centre, die breaks commencing in several places from the rim, glossy brown uncirculated and extremely rare.
Ex Hamer (lot 30), Waite-Sanderson (lot 9) and Gerson Collections (who bought it from Baldwin).
