U.S.A., photographs of the wreck of the U.S. Battleship 'Maine' in Havana Harbour, Cuba, the sinking of the U.S. Maine on the 15th February 1898 with a loss of two hundred and sixty lives. A navy court of enquiry in 1898 gave the cause as a large mine blew up the ship. In 1911 a second inquiry decided a smaller mine was the cause. Admiral JHyman G.Rickover placed the cause of the explosion as accidental due to a fire in a coal bunker. Together with photographs of U.S. personnel on the transprt ship 'Michigan' and scenes around Havana. Very good.(17)
