SWORD, Anglo-Saxon 6-8th century, iron sword, 73 cms long including handle, carefully packaged in box for exhibition and storage; attached to the box is and illustrated Sotheby's advertisement of this sword and sale details in the London Daily Telegraph, December 18, 1978. Fair and extremely rare.

Ex. Find in 1970 from bed of the river Thames at Kennigton where it had lain for over 1000 years and then sold at the Sotheby's London auction, 17th October 1978, (where sold for Å“360).
