HACKNEY, David Rebello's memorial private token (the first ever issued) for one penny, by Milton, view of Huchney Church/Time seated on a coin Cabinet holding tablet inscribed David Alves Rebello (D&H 24) a proof struck in silver. Deeply toned, rubbed on the high points, nearly uncirculated and extremely rare, only 8 struck in silver.

Ex Glendining's sale 6 June 1990 (lot 458). Rebello was a keen collector of tokens and issuer of halfpenny (D&H 309). He resided in More Street Hackney and died in 1796.
