JAMES' PENNY, on broad flan, lion couchant/a vulture, 'medals, dies crests coats of arms uniforms ec' (D&H 32F this piece). Struck without collar, uneven pressure left piece not well struck up (D&H suggest dies were partly defaced). Dark brown patina, extremely fine except for weakness and probably unique.
