INDIA, East India Company, Madras Presidency, Indian Style Coinage, Hindu System, Gold pagoda, c.1740-1807, Struck at Fort St. George (Madras) mint, (3.4 grams), obv. three standing half figure deities, (representing Vishnu as Venkatesvara and his two wives, Sridevi and Bhudevi), rev. granulated, (Pr.3B, KM. 304). Uncirculated and rare.

The issues commenced about 1691 with three full facing figures but in 1740 the style changed to three half figures, similar in style to the star pagoda.
