MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.83 grams), 'Amphipolis' mint, issued 320-317 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **PO* under throne, aplustre to left, to right **ALEXANDRO[U], (cf.S.6713, Price 129, BMC 129a-c, M.280, SNG Von Post 4 [this Coin]). Knock on edge on the obverse, otherwise very fine.
