SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus IX, (113-95 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.23 gms), Antioch mint, first rule in Antioch 113-112 B.C., obv. diademed bearded head of Antiochus IX to right, fillet border, rev. Athena standing to left, holding wreath bearing Nike in outstretched hand, all within laurel, on right, **BASILEWS ANTIOCOU and to left FILO PATOROS, to left mongram of - on N over A, N to right, (S.7160, Newell SMA 384, SNG Von Post 601 [this coin]). Good very fine and scarce.
