AUGUSTUS AS OCTAVIAN, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, mint moving with Octavian, issued 36 B.C., (3.3 grams), obv. bare head of Octavian to right around IMP CAESAR DIVI F III VIR ITER R P C, rev. simpulum, sprinkler, vase and lituus, around COS ITER ET TER DESIG, (S.451, Cr. 538/1, C.91, Syd.1334, BMC Gaul 116). Has a banker's marks countermarked in field on the obverse, slightly off centred, otherwise attractive even grey patina, good fine and rare.

Ex. Spink Australia Sale 12 (lot 838). Probably refer to the renewal of the triumvirate.
