AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, Lyons mint, issued 15-13 B.C. (3.66 grams), obv. bare head of Augustus to right, around AVGV[STVS] DIVI F, rev. IMP X in exergue, two soldiers with parazonium and branch giving these to Augustus seated to left on platform, (S.485, RIC 165a, C.133, BMC 446). Off centred on the obverse, fine and rare.

Ex. Christie's, London, May 9, 1978 (lot 18). The issue probably relate to the victories of Tiberius and Drusus over the Rhaeti, in 15 B.C., and these two princes may be the soldiers shown.
