AUGUSTUS AS OCTAVIAN, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, uncertain Italian mint (probably Brundisium, maybe Rome), issued 29-27 B.C. (3.61 grams), obv. Octavian head bare to right, in linear circle, rev. IMP to left, CA[ESAR] to right, naval and military trophy facing, its base crossed with rudder and anchor and set on prow to right, (S.-, RIC 265a, C.119, BMC 625). Bankers marks V and II on obverse, slightly off centred on obverse, otherwise good fine and rare.
