CHINA, Tang Dynasty, Uncertain type, lead, with rectangular hole, (c.A.D. 618 - 906), Sinjiang Province, diameter 25mm, (7.1 grams), (JMQB -, TFP -). Dirty encrusted in field, very fine and unlisted.
A new type found in excavations in China in 1995 in Sinjiang Province area. The rectangular hole in the centre has not previously been noted. A similar example in Noble Numismatics Sale 53 (lot 3076) realised $110.
