This collection is probably the most important sale of Indian Gold coins ever held. The lots are fully described and many lots have detailed footnotes, also each area has an excellent introduction to the that series of coinage issues ranging from the Kushanas to the Coinage of the European Colonial Powers in India. The collection as formed by Dr. Lawrence Brent Brilliant is the more remarkable for the great number of rarities present including the Kanishka gold depecting the earliest numismatic depiction of Buddha. Every serious collector or scholar interested in Indian coins should have a copy of this very scarce catalogue.
