GEORGE IV, H.B.M.S., Adventure and Beagle, 1827 in brass (26mm) and another similar dates 1828 (M.H.579; BHM.1262). Extremely fine and scarce.(2)

Ex. Spink Australia Sale 33 (lot 2083) and Eton College Collection. The Adventure and Beagle were under the Command of Phillip P.King and surveyed the Straits of Magellan between 1826 and 1828. King was born in 1791, the son of Phillip Gidley King and was 'the first and for many years the only Australian-born to attain eminence in the world outside the Australian colonies'(A.D.B.).
