Kuchler, 48mm, (60.0 grams), 1793, obv. bust of Marquis Cornwallis to left, rev. scene of Cornwallis accompanied by staff receiving sons of Tippoo, dated 1793, (Pollard 5 [p.273-276], Eimer 845, BHM 363, Fearon 243.2). As struck, lightly toned, FDC.
Ex. A.H. Baldwin, London, 1995, with ticket. This type is struck from two pairs of dies, one of which is incorrectly dated 1793 (this example). Tippoo Sahib (1751-1799), Sultan of Mysore, was killed in action at the storming of seringapatam in the fourth Mysore war.
