MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.14 grams), Amphipolis mint, issued c.315-294 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **L above torch all to left, kantharos under throne, to right **ALEXANDROU*, (cf.S.6713, Price 468, BMC 468a-c, SNG Cop. 697). Extremely fine.
