MACEDON, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.4 grams), Ake mint, issued 330-327 B..C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, -) 0 to left, dotted border, to right **ALEXANDRO[U], (cf.S.6713, Price 3248, BMC 3248a-c, M.1427). Damaged and corroded on neck on obverse, grafiti scratched under throne on reverse, otherwise good fine.
