CILICIA, Celenderis, silver stater, c.400 B.C., (10.18 grams), obv. naked rider with whip in right hand seated sideways on horse prancing to right from which he is about to dismount, dotted border, rev. goat kneeling to left, looking back, above KEA, dotted exergue line, (cf.S.5533, BMC 25). Obverse struck from a rusty die, otherwise extremely fine with attractive medium grey patina, very rare.
