SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus III, (223-187 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.47 grams), uncertain Eastern mint, issued c.200 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus III to right, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow, on right, **BASILEWS and to left **ANTIOXOU, to right monograms and letters **BL, (cf.S.6933, Newell ESM -, WSM -, cf.ACNAC Houghton 1313 on style). Excellent Hellenistic portrait in high relief, old dark tone, extremely fine, apparently unpublished and of great rarity.
