SYRIA, Kingdom of, Tigranes II of Armenia, (95-56 B.C.) issued 83-69 B.C., silver tetradrachm, (15.3 grams), Antioch mint, obv. Bust of Tigranes wearing Armenian tiara with star and eagles to right, rev. Tyche of Antioch seated on rock, river-god Orontes below, AP monogram to right, to left **BASILEW[S], to right **TIGRANOU to left, all within laurel wreath, (S.7202, Bedoukian 17, N.31 [p.59]). Light porosity surface, otherwise very fine, rare.
