EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (285-246 B.C.), AE 16, (2.78 grams), Alexandria mint, obv. diademed head of Zeus Ammon to right, rev. eagle to left with open wings, standing on thunderbolt, around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU*, nothing between legs, (cf.S.7788, Sv. 418, SNG Cop. 166). Attractive dark patina, extremely fine.
