TIBERIUS, (A.D. 14-37), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 14-37, (3.77 grams), obv. laureate head of Tiberius to right, around TI CAESAR DIVI AVG F AVGVSTVS, rev. PONTIF MAXIM, Livia seated to right, with vertical sceptre and branch, (S.567, RIC 30, BMC 48). Slightly off centred on the reverse, unevenly toned, otherwise good very fine.
Of Biblical importance as the issue is often described as the Tribute Penny (Mark 12: 14-17).
