SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 198-202, (3.3 grams), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEPT SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX, rev. around VICT PARTHICAE, Victory walking to left, holding wreath and trophies, at feet captive seated left with hands tied, (S.1795, RIC 142, C.741). Light tone, extremely fine, scarce.
