CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 204, obv. laureate draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG PONT TR P VII, rev. COS LVD OS SAECVS FEL, SC in exergue, Bacchus with sceptre and Heraclius with club and lion skin standing facing each other, (cf.RIC 421, cf.C.52, S.-). Nearly very fine, type very rare, this with unpublished reverse legend variant.
