SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 232, Rome mint, (3.5 grams), obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed, around IMP ALEXAN DER PIVS AVG, rev. P M TR P XI COS III P P, Sol standing facing head to left, holding globe and raising right hand, (cf.S.2229, RIC 112, C.427). Brilliant good extremely fine, a scarce type and rare in this condition.
