SICILY, Norman Kingdom of Sicily, Ruggero II, (A.D. 1105-1154), gold tari, (1.0 grams), struck at mint of Palerno and Messina in Sicily and issued about 1140, obv. Arabic crude script in three lines, star above, rev. cross, in two lines IC XC/ NI KA, line on each side above, Arabic script around, (Spahr 60 [p.151]). Small flan as usual, very fine and very scarce.
