ATTICA, Aegina, (510-490 B.C.), silver stater, (12.3 grams), obv. smoothed shell sea turtle without row of dots down dorsal spine, central banker's mark, rev. incuse square, 'Union Jack' design with six sunken trianglur compartments, (S.1851, Asyut Group III b 'thin collar' cf.439, SNG Cop. 511-3). Good fine, broader flan than usual, scarce.
One of the earliest European archaic silver coins.
