HEPHTHALITES, Early Hephthalite coinage based on Kushano - Sassanian prototypes, (c.A.D. 400), silver drachm, issued in Kabul Valley, (3.5 grams), obv. winged and turretted bust of Varahran IV to right, crude Greek inscription before bust, rev. fire altar and attendants, (M.1420, cf.Gobl 32). Has been mounted as a pendant (removed), otherwise very fine and rare.
