MANCHESTER, Mary Hampson & Son, halfpenny, a countermark die Mary Hampson & Son around MAN/CHES/TER in the centre in three lines on a very worn early halfpenny, possibly George II or more likely a halfpenny size blank (Davis 32). Weak in centre otherwise very fine and very rare.

Purchased from Seaby in 1969.
