DCM CG 19APRIL1917: For conspicuous gallantry in action. He handled three trench mortars with great courage and ability. Later with his crew he dug an emplacement in the open under very heavy fire. He set a splendid example of coolness and determination throughout the operations. With copy of Commonwealth Gazette entry.
