Lot 4960

Estimate $200
Bid at live.noble.com.au
SOLD $150

POSTER (33CM BY 21CM) ENTITLED 'PROTECTION OF WOMEN AND CHILDRED IN EVENT OF AN ATTACK ON THURSDAY ISLAND' DATED 26 AUGUST 1914. Edges slightly torn and slight staining. Rare.

This poster was displayed throughout the island and resulted from the high possibility of attack by SMS EMDEN or other German maritime raiders. The direction on the poster to 'Paste this up' would indicate very few copies (if any) would exist today.

Estimate / sale price does not include buyer's premium (currently 22% including GST) which is added to hammer price. All bids are executed on the understanding that the Terms & Conditions of sale have been read and accepted. For information on grading and estimates please refer to the Buying at Auction advice.
