JUSTIN II, (A.D.565-578), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, (4.37 grams), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust of Justin II facing, without beard, holding globe surmounted by Victory and shield, D N I VSTI NVS PP AVC around, rev. +VICTORI A AVCCCG, around, CONOB in exergue, Constantinopolis seated facing head right, holding spear and cross on globe, (S.345, cf.D.O.4c variant). Very fine/good very fine and very rare officina.
The officina Gamma of this type is known only from a few specimens according to Hahn that are held in private collections, none are apparently in public collections.
