Farrukhabad although listed above in the references cited as a Mogul mint it is in fact a tributary to Awadh. It is a district in North India founded early in the 18th century by the Afghan, Mohammad Khan (d.1743). The subsequent struggles of his sons with Awadh, the Rohillas and Marathas culminated it becoming a tributary of Awadh. It was entirely surrounded in 1801 and ceded to the British. The issue in gold is very rare and are rarely seen.
