WILLIAM I, (1066-1087), silver penny, Bonnet type, Thetford mint, issued 1068-1070, obv. crowned diademed bust facing with two fillets at each side, rev. cross voided with annulet in centre, pellet between each limb pile in each angle, around +OTBEIIRN ON DETOI (Otbearn of Thetford), (S.1251, North 842, BMC ii, cf.BMC 150-1 same reverse die, Br.II). Flan crack, otherwise very fine and rare.
