DUKE OF WELLINGTON, British Victories of the Peninsula War, 1815, a brass tube, inscribed 'British Victories in the Peninsula' on its side, containing twenty (out of original twenty six) 15mm medals with a uniform obverse, Victory flying, 1. BY THE MERCY OF GOD, the reverses are inscribed with a miltary action and the date, the lid is inset with a medal bearing the portrait of Wellington, the base is inscribed with the name and date of the first and last battles, manufactured by Thomson & Jones (BHM.888, Eimer 1076). Nearly extremely fine-extremely fine.
