THEODOSIUS I (A.D. 379-395), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 378-383, obv. rosette diademed draped and cuirassed bust of Theodosius I to right, around D N THEODO SIVS P F AVG, rev. Constantinopolis helmeted seated facing, head to right on throne ornamented with lions' heads holding sceptre and shield inscribed VOT V MVL X, CONCORDI A AVGG around, in exergue CONOB, (S.4168, RIC 47b.1). Extremely fine and very rare.
