ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.400-350 B.C.), silver stater, (7.86 grams), obv. head of female to left, the hair bound by a thick braid, to right **ST, rev. corn ear, METAB[O] to left, stalk to right, above it uncertain symbol, due to extensive die break, (cf.S.407, Noe [NN&M 47, 1984] 476, SNG ANS 360 [same dies]). Very fine and rare.
