PALESTINE, Roman Procurator of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, under Tiberius, (A.D. 26-36), copper prutah, obv. littus TIBEPIOY [KAICAPOC], rev. date in wreath LI[Z] probably a reversed Z, (year 17 = A.D.30), (S.5623, H.114). Nearly complete obverse legend, but reverse off centre, otherwise nearly very fine, scarce.

Of immense Biblical interest and better than average.
