COMMODUS, (A.D. 177-192), issued as Caesar, struck at Rome in A.D. 175-6, AE Sestertius, (26.05 grams), obv. around L AVREL COMMODO CAES AVG FIL GERM SARM, bare headed bust draped to right, rev. around PIETAS AVG, S C in exergue, various sacrificial implements, knife, aspergillum, jug, etc. (S.1595, RIC 1526, C.403). Two minor green spots on obverse, otherwise good fine and rare.
