PHILIP II, (A.D. 247-249), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued as Caesar A.D. 244-247, (26.36 grams), obv. bare headed bust of Philip II to right draped, around M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, rev. around PRINCIPI IVVENTVTES, Philip II standing to right in military dress holding spear and globe, S C across field, (cf.S.2652, RIC 257, C.-). Uneven green and dirty, otherwise fine/very fine and scarce.
