UMAYYAD OF SPAIN, Al Hakam II, (A.H. 350-366) (A.D. 961-976), silver dirham, Madinat al-Zahra mint (near Cordoba Spain), A.H. 350 = A.D. 961, type variant with eight petal flower on reverse above the four lines, (A.352, Miles 242 var., ruler not in M.-). Slightly crinkled, otherwise very fine and very rare.
This and the followings lots of this ruler all come from the one hoard, all are rather rare issues and differ from each other, they are rarely offered. This variant with eight petal flower on the reverse has been noted by Miles for year 351 (Miles 243e) and that example known from a specimen in the Hispanic Society of America, now on loan to the American Numismatic Society,
