(ATHENA FUND II), Sotheby's, Greek and Roman Coins, Zurich sales, 26-28th October 1993, the property of the Merrill-Lynch investment fund, (1890 lots, in two volumes, every coin illustrated with many in colour, containing spectacular rarities), and New York December 9-10, 1993, including the property of Numismatic Fine Arts, International, (1068 lots many in colour). Near new condition. (3)
The collection and style of the first two catalogues compares favourably with the famous Sotheby's Hunt Brothers sales a few years earlier. The second catalogue includes the Samaria Hoard, (see Biblical and Jewish coins for examples).
