GALLIPOLI APRIL 25 1915, in gold (22 carat, 12.8 grams 25mm) by Prouds Ltd., (C.1915/7 not listed for gold). Sold with contemporary handwritten card dated 2nd October 1924 'From the Organisers of Australia Day and the 1st medal struck to honour the Anzacs!' In case ofissue (broken at hinge, medal has two severe edge bumps otherwise brilliant nearly uncirculated and very rare in this metal, the first we have handled.
